These practice / performance staves are designed for exceptional durability, great feel and an affordable price. The end caps can be swapped easily to match your costume or other troupe members colors.

For shorter staves (under 59 inches) we recommend the reg wall 7075 Aluminum, Nimbus grip (silicone foam in white or black) and your choice of two tone color ends. For longer staves we recommend upgrading to the ultra stiff carbon fiber.

Body / Tube
The staff body is made from either 7075 aluminum or our ultra stiff carbon fiber. 7075 is one of the strongest aluminum alloys made and is the equivalent to many titanium alloys. Most configurations have a 3/4" diameter which fits comfortably on the body and rolls at a speed great for control, but isn't so thin that the staff is springy or easily bends. The ultra stiff carbon fiber does come in a 5/8" diameter, this is extremely smooth and rolls slow without being springy. If you are getting a long staff (over 59 inches) we would recommend the ultra stiff carbon fiber to reduce possible flex.

Ends
The ends have two 3d printed plastic parts (base and end cap) that come in a wide variety of colors. The base is a hard plastic and weighted with 4 lead weights. The caps are a soft plastic to absorb impacts and simply pop on/ off with a flat head screwdriver.

Grip
We provide two grip options to meet your specific needs. For contact staff we tend to recommend Nimbus grip first with Om and classic grip as close runners up depending on an artist's preferences. If you really need the best possible grip for wet conditions, you can't beat EPDM but it does ware faster than the other options.

Nimbus Grip is a silicone foam based grip and is the latest in staff grip technology. It combines the best features of EPDM foam (great in moist or dusty conditions and slightly squishy for enhanced griping) with the additional benefits of being silicone based (much higher durability, two color options, natural heat resistance). The white option will get dirty over time and you will never get it perfectly white again. However, if you toss your staff in the air at night, you will be able to see it vs a black grip. Compared to EPDM, this grip will not rub off on you and is close but not quite as good in wet conditions. Classic grip is thinner but losses its grippiness much faster. Om grip is thicker and not as grippy.

Om Grip is a yoga mat based grip with adhesive-backing. It has more give then the other two options and is slightly less grippy than Nimbus grip. Om grip is especially good for dragon staff work, where you don't want the hair on your arms pulled out and the extra cushion will allow for longer practice times. It comes in four colors options and doesn't leave residue on your arms after use (like EPDM does). It is not as grippy as Nimbus grip, so for those artist looking for the most tacky staff grip, Nimbus or EPDM is probably a better option.

Total Length

To determine your staff length, measure from the ground to just above your chin. As you become more experienced, you may wish for longer or shorter staves. Keep in mind that shorter staves spin faster, which may make contact movement more difficult. Carbon Fiber staves are about 10% lighter than Aluminum and can not be bent (although they can split or shatter if enough force is applied). These are great for spinners that want to minimize their staff's weight and/or put all the weight at the ends of the staff.

Diameter

1st Cap Color The color of the softer end caps. These are replaceable and can be changed for different colors to match your performance outfit.

1st Base Color The bottom part of the practice staff ends.

2nd Cap Color You can choose a different color for the second end cap. It can be very helpful when learning to have different colored ends.
